📏 Weekly Measure: 2025 W01
Happy New Year! We had a very restful winter vacation, and spent the past couple of days visiting the local temples and shrines and doing the Fujisawa Treasure event. Next weekend, we're going to try to do the Shichifukujin (Seven Lucky Gods) stamp rally! Very excited about that.
Website updates
#Tags, footnotes, and TOCs
#I've finally gotten around to adding proper tags to this site instead of adding them in all by hand! I've also added a tag cloud to the Blog Archives page thanks to Claus!
You may have also noticed last time that I've also added footnotes using Kitty Giraudel's plugin. I've also done a lot of cleanup on the backend to make automated, nesting tables of contents using Jordan Shurmer's plugin. Bit by bit, I am making my Eleventy setup just a little easier to use so I'm not having to manually copy and paste code over by hand! Maybe that will encourage me to blog more often...
I am also gathering together some materials to do a big overhaul of the "Migrating to Eleventy" post. Hoping to get that done sometime this week.
Misty wrote about Rodem the Wild on Indie Tsushin!
#Misty De Méo was very kind enough to write about iTA-Choco Systems’ 1994 Mac stray dog survival game Rodem the Wild! It's an amazing game and an amazing writeup.
Speaking of Indie Tsushin
#...I am working on getting the Year 2 book done, hopefully also this week. I already got the cover art (!!) so it's just a matter of compiling the ePub.
I also have a couple of interviews sitting in my inbox to translate (which have been there for months now at this point, lolsob). Praying that 2025 is the year I finally get my act together and start putting this stuff up on time.

#Trackers
#I've switched from StoryGraph to BookWyrm! I was getting increasingly turned off of StoryGraph because of its pivot to AI (😬) and strange rubric for reviews.
Also, since I don't think I've mentioned it before, I'm also tracking my games on Backloggery. I like it a lot more than Backloggd because it doesn't pull from any databases (like IGDB) which means I can add microgames, homebrew, non-English games, and whatever else.
Happy Hour 2025 New Year's Eve Marathon Stream
#We streamed for an astonishing seven hours. I have no idea where we got the stamina for it. We streamed again for our normal weekly stream on January 2nd. 2025, the year we stop flaking out on our streams?! One can only hope!!
