😅 So, Blaugust, huh?
Uhhh hi! Remember when I said I was going to at least try to blog every day in August, and then did it for *checks calendar* exactly three days and then never again? Well… what if I were to tell you… that I want to make up for it by blogging every day in October? Would you believe me then??
Okay, you really should not believe me. I don’t even believe me. But I might as well say it out loud so that if/when I inevitably fall over, we can at least have another good laugh about it.
A lot has happened in the nearly two months since I’ve not been blogging. One of the big things is that I signed up to take the JLPT N1 in December, so I’ve been studying a lot for that. I’ve also been streaming myself doing pomodoros and Anki reviews, because nothing holds me to account better than an audience (real or imagined) watching and putting pressure on me to not just get up and wander off and take a nap.
Look ma, I'm streaming on Twitch!!
I’m not going to lie, it’s been a lot of fun doing this, and though I am usually streaming into an empty room, it’s still been a great way to make this into a regular habit. If you also find it difficult to stick to a study schedule, might I recommend starting your own co-study stream?
My daily study goals are to do at least one full set of pomodoros (so four 25-minute sessions) and get as much studying in as I can. On top of that, I’ve been trying to read at least a chapter or more of manga every day, writing out all the words and characters I can’t immediately recognize. I am not super confident that I’ll be able to pass N1, at least not this time around, but it has at least been a good goal for me to work towards.
Anyway, speaking of studying Japanese, I am way overdue for today’s Anki reviews! See you on Twitch, and/or tomorrow when I DEFINITELY come back for another blog entry!!
